About AniCura De Tweede Lijn
AniCura De Tweede Lijn Zwolle has been a trusted referral partner for veterinarians in the region for more than 25 years. Since March 2025, we have expanded our services to provide 24-hour emergency and referral care for companion animals.
Our hospital currently includes:
Board-certified specialists in Internal Medicine (ECVIM-CA)
A board-certified specialist in Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI)
An experienced surgical team, including a German specialist surgeon
Advanced cardiology expertise
A rapidly growing Emergency and Critical Care service
A dedicated blood bank
Extensive inpatient and medium-care facilities
As our hospital continues to grow, we are looking for an ECVS Diplomate or board-eligible surgeon to further strengthen and develop our surgical service.
A Diverse and Challenging Caseload
Our surgical caseload includes:
Orthopaedic surgery
Neurosurgery
Soft tissue surgery
Minimally invasive surgery
Emergency surgery
We strongly believe in multidisciplinary patient care. Hospitalised patients are managed collaboratively by clinicians from different disciplines, ensuring the highest standards of care and creating an excellent learning and working environment.
Knowledge sharing, discussion and teamwork are integral parts of our daily practice.

CT scanner
C-arm fluoroscopy
Multiple ultrasound systems
Dedicated and fully equipped surgical suite

A highly skilled team of veterinary nurses, including experienced anaesthesia nurses

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated colleague who:
Is an ECVS Diplomate or board-eligible surgeon following completion of an accredited ECVS residency programme
Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary referral environment
Possesses excellent communication skills
Takes initiative and enjoys contributing to the growth and development of a hospital
Values collaboration and knowledge sharing
Has an interest in teaching, mentoring and supporting the development of future specialists
Dutch language skills are not required.
If you do not yet speak Dutch, we will gladly support you with language training and guidance to help you integrate into both our team and daily clinical practice.
